A Virtual Combat Aviation Brigade for Digital Combat Simulator
Who are we?
The Virtual 101st Combat Aviation Brigade is a semi-milsim squadron hosting missions and events in Digital Combat Simulator, or DCS. We learn and represent some of the highly capable helicopters the 101st CAB has to offer. Our unit is spit into two main sections. Reconnaissance and attack both are handled by the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment (2/17 Cavalry) and 1st Squadron, 101st Aviation Regiment, while transport and logistics fall under the 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment (5-101 Aviation). Our 2/17 Cavalry and 1-101 units operate the lethal AH-64D Apache Longbow in an attack role, and the nimble OH-58D Kiowa Warrior in an armed reconnaissance role, while 5-101 Aviation operates the UH-60L Blackhawk in a utility role. We plan to offer checkrides and training for those who plan to join us in the ranks of the Virtual 101st CAB.

2/17 and 1-101 - AH-64D
The AH-64D Apache Longbow represents the most lethal weapon the 101st CAB has to offer. Operated by A Troop of 2/17 and A Company of the 1-101, the AH-64D is the unit's premier strike and attack helicopter, boasting a remarkable amount of ordnance.
2/17 Cavalry - OH-58D
The OH-58D Kiowa Warrior is the eyes and ears of our unit. Operated by B and C Troops of 2/17, the OH-58D is our main scout helicopter and will be a vital part in ensuring smooth coordination between airframes.
5-101 Aviation - UH-60L
The UH-60L Blackhawk provides transport and other logistical support for the 101st CAB. Operated by A and C Companies of 5-101, the UH-60L is our only utility helicopter and will be conducting all of our supply and CSAR missions.
